"15. Sometimes I worry that we've all become workaholics -- because getting through life can be really hard work. But...we need to log off, go home, and remember what it is to have dinner, conversation, and sex...not necessarily in that order" - Lisa Cogan
taking time for yourself can be really difficult. in our fast-paced society focused on "success" (whatever that is...), making time to take a deep breath and appreciate your surroundings is not particularly a priority. but that's what it's all about...MAKING time. prioritize time for yourself. when you tell someone your eta for hanging out, add 15 minutes to it...just 15. use those extra 15 minutes to sit on your couch with your pet, or a book, or a glass of wine. if you're feeling rushed to make it to yoga class, don't go. instead, put on your favorite cheesy song and dance around your home. or cook yourself a really nice meal, light a candle, take a bath, and perhaps pick a couple of poses your body is craving (for an awesome index of asanas visit yogajournal.com) make time to take time for yourself. you may be surprised at how much more ready you are to take on life's challenges and enjoy the simplicities of life.
